Cookie Policy

How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you stay in control. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary is set until you allow it.

Our approach

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device; similar technologies, such as local storage, do a comparable job. We keep this site deliberately light-touch. By default it sets only what is strictly necessary for it to work, and anything beyond that stays switched off until you choose to allow it through the consent banner.

What we set, and why

The banner groups everything into the four standard categories used by Cookiebot, the consent platform that runs it:

  • Necessary — keeps the site secure and working, and records the choices you make in the banner so we do not ask again on every page. These cannot be switched off.
  • Preferences — remember settings that change how the site looks or behaves for you. We set none of these today.
  • Statistics — help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Off unless you allow them.
  • Marketing — recognise visitors across websites so that messaging elsewhere can be tailored. We set none of these today, and any introduced later will stay off unless you allow them.

The banner itself relies on a single strictly necessary cookie, CookieConsent, which stores your choices for twelve months so they can be honoured on each visit. It is set by Cookiebot on our behalf.

Your choices

You can allow everything, deny everything beyond the necessary, or allow a selection — and change your mind at any time. Choose Cookie settings in the footer of any page to reopen the banner with your current choices shown. Denying has no effect on how the site works.

Your browser also lets you view, block and delete the cookies that sites have stored on your device; its help pages explain how. Blocking the strictly necessary ones may stop parts of the site working as intended.

Changes to this policy

If we introduce anything new that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page first, and the banner will ask for your consent before it is set. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
